Doing it for Tassie

In support of the families who lost their children in the Devonport jumping castle tragedy, GRV will donate $500 for every place getter Brendan Pursell trains for the month of January.

Brendan is a former Tasmanian greyhound trainer who made the move from Hobart to Victoria in 2015 and now has a team of 28 race dogs.

“The tragedy in Devonport was heartbreaking. It didn’t matter if you were a parent or not, it took its toll on everyone,” Brendan said.

“Losing a child is something no one should have to go through.”

GRV Chair Peita Duncan said that it wasn’t just about raising funds for the families and the community but also to let people know that we are thinking of them and that they aren’t alone.

“We as a greyhound racing community want to help ease the pain of the families and communities in any way possible no matter how big or small,” Peita said.

“Our greyhound family is national, and it is important that we look after all communities we race in.”

Money raised will be donated to the Go Fund Me Page | Support for Families – Hilcrest Primary School.
