In case you missed it

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 ROCKET BOY (Box 4)
Breeding:
Nov ’17 Cosmic Rumble x Abscond
Trainer: Lisa Delbridge, Balliang
Record: 59 starts 30-10-5
Dale says: “Absolutely one of the best wins you will see this year. Make sure you have the volume up as well because the call was just as good. After a moderate beginning, the aptly named Rocket Boy was denied a run and subsequently was shuffled out to last. Spotting the leader a good six lengths at the halfway point, victory appeared beyond his reach. But Rocket Boy, normally a noted wide runner, uncharacteristically stuck to the rail turning for home and sprouted wings to claim an amazing victory.”     Results

#2 PAUA OF BUDDY (Box 8)
Breeding:
Apr ’19 Aston Dee Bee x Paua To Admit
Trainer: Steven Bruce White, Buln Buln East
Record: 9 starts 6-2-0
Dale says: “Hard to go past a track record win and that’s exactly what Paua Of Buddy achieved in his electrifying 400m victory in 21.99sec at Warragul. In doing so he lowered the previous time standard (22.07sec) held jointly by his half-brother Paua Of Oscar and Aston Bolero. Perfectly drawn in box 8, ‘Buddy’ quickly assumed control after box rise and went on to score a commanding 11 length victory in one of the fastest provincial wins ever recorded.”     Results

#3 WOW SHE’S FAST (Box 5)
Breeding:
February ’20 My Bro Fabio x Fair Of Face
Trainer: Jacqueline Greenough, Pearcedale,
Record: 1 starts 1-0-0
Dale says: “At just 19 months of age this performance was arguably the fastest win by a greyhound on debut since Shakey Jakey drew headlines with his insane 29.07sec Wentworth Park track record win back in 2014. Exploding out of the traps, the accurately named Wow She’s Fast led comfortably, clocking a blistering 5.00sec first sectional. She extended that margin out to a 10 length lead with a near record 18.47 second sectional before going on to record a mind blowing 27.5 length victory in a scintillating 29.09sec.”     Results

#4 BOLT OUT (Box 6)
Breeding:
Sep ’19 Barcia Bale x Zoom Out
Trainer: Michelle Mallia, Avalon
Record: 14 starts 4-1-1
Dale says: “Sent out a well-supported $2.20 favourite, punters had reason for concern when Bolt Out completely bombed the start. Making a miraculous recovery, he displayed an unrivalled turn of speed and went from a clear last position to hit the lead in the space of just 150 metres to power away to a race winning lead, stopping the clock in 25.94sec.”     Results
