The “Cattery” wasn’t purring last week, so it’ll be ‘clawing’ at a $5.50 AFL/Greys offer from TAB for the Cats to put out the Power’s lights and Star Night, a winner of 11 from 84, to score at Warragul.
Last week, Port Adelaide scored a thrilling 2pt win over the Bulldogs while Geelong coughed up a 44pt ‘fur ball’, after leading midway through the third quarter, to lose by 4pts with a kick-after-the-siren goal by Demons’ captain Max Gawn.
But it’s worth noting, Geelong defeated Port Adelaide by 21pts at Adelaide Oval in their most recent encounter on June 10. And tonight, the Cats will be celebrating Tom Hawkins’ 300th game.
Meanwhile, Star Night – prepared at Bunyip by Michael Whyte – is engaged in a Grade 5 (400m). He’s won six from 37 over 400m at Warragul, with a 22.70sec PB, and is $2.15 favourite on TAB’s fixed odds market.
Ironically, Star Night’s dam is Kitty Kahn – so could that be an omen?
The Port Adelaide v Geelong Cats clash at Adelaide Oval commences at 7.50pm, while Star Night is in Race 10 Box 1 at 10.08pm.
