‘Buddy’ & ‘Brute’

Swans’ fans will ‘cheer cheer’ TAB’s AFL/Greys ‘Saturday special’.

And they’ll also be hoping Lance “Buddy” Franklin ‘shakes down the thunder from the sky’.

The betting giant’s $4.50 proposition is Franklin to kick 3+ goals against Essendon at the Gabba and Bobby The Brute placing at The Meadows.

Franklin was lucky to escape suspension and is free to play to keep on target towards his 1000th career goal. Buddy is averaging 2.8 goals a game this season but has kicked 73 goals from 17 games against Essendon (average 4.3 per game).

The Swans are sixth with 12 wins from 18 games and Essendon ninth with eight wins.

Last week, the Sydney Swans defeated the Fremantle Dockers by 40pts while Essendon lost to GWS Giants by 13pts.
Meanwhile, the Brendan Pursell-trained Bobby The Brute (Box 6) is TAB’s $4.40 second elect, behind Mr. Fix It (Box 2) at $2.30, in a Free For All (525m).

‘Comeback kid’ Bobby The Brute, who recently returned from a six-month hiatus, has won 13 races from 44 starts – including four of his past five. He’s also two from four this track/distance and boasts a smart 29.80sec PB.

Late last year, Bobby The Brute finished third to Houdini Boy in the G1 Sale Cup and runner-up to Simon Told Helen in the G2 Geelong Gold Cup.

The Swans vs Bombers clash at the Gabba commences at 7.40pm while Bobby The Brute is in Race 8 at 9.02pm.

WATCH: Bobby The Brute (4) ‘monsters’ his rivals with a 29.84sec (BOD) win at The Meadows on July 14.
