Racing update: Highway 31 Maiden Challenge

Healesville Greyhound Association will proceed with conducting the inaugural Highway 31 Maiden Challenge (300m) on Tuesday 24 August (heats) & Sunday 29th August (final), however heats at Richmond Greyhound Racing Club will no longer occur as part of this series.

The decision to modify this event – which was to be a state-versus-state rivalry between Victoria and New South Wales with heats at Healesville and Richmond leading into a final at Healesville – is due to the current impact of COVID-19.

Interstate trained greyhounds are eligible to be nominated for heats at Healesville but participants must adhere to all COVID-19 restrictions and procedures.

The Highway 31 Maiden Challenge is an event for maiden greyhounds with a maximum of eight heats to be conducted on Tuesday 24 August.

The winner of the Highway 31 Maiden Challenge Final will receive $10,000 plus trophy and rug.

Greyhounds that finish 4th to 8th in the final will receive a $200 petrol card.
