Can Tiges’ do it ‘on the bit’

Tiges’ fans won’t be ‘horsing around’ with TAB’s AFL/Greys offer tonight.

They’ll be ‘riding home’ the betting giant’s $3.30 proposition on Richmond to lose by 15pts or less, or even win, against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba and rising star On The Bit winning at his Geelong debut.

Injury depleted Richmond is eighth on the AFL ladder with five wins from nine matches, while the Brisbane Lions are fourth with six wins.

Meanwhile, the Matt Lanigan-trained On The Bit – a winner of four races from only six starts – is TAB’s $1.60 favourite in a Grade 5 heat (460m).

He’s owned by the ‘Correct Weight’ syndicate comprising prominent jockeys Jye McNeil (who rode last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Twilight Payment), John Allen and Harry Coffey, along with Warrnambool horse trainer Daniel Bowman and close friend Paul McDowall.

The Lions vs Tigers clash at the Gabba commences at 7.50pm, while On The Bit is in Race 6 Box 2 at 8.27pm.
