“Little Shima” and Tigers set to ‘roar’

Here’s a cross-sports proposition for Richmond fans hoping for a ‘Classic’ performance against Port Adelaide tonight.

TAB’s AFL/GREYS offer is $6 about the Tigers losing by less than nine points (or even winning) and exciting young talent Shima Classic claiming a $47,000 first prize in the Bottle-O Ballarat Cup final (450m).

The Tiges’ are sixth on the AFL ladder after their shock loss last week to the Sydney Swans, while Port is fourth. Both have two wins from three matches and are separated by 25.3%.

Meanwhile, the Andrea Dailly-trained Shima Classic ($2.50) is the second elect on TAB, behind freakish sprinter Ferdinand Boy ($2.30) for the Ballarat Cup.

A recent Group 1 Australian Cup finalist, Shima Classic – a younger half-sister of superstar and dual G1 winner Shima Shine – has won eight races from only 13 starts.

She registered the fastest heat win (24.76sec) on Monday – one length off the 24.69sec track record held by Silver Lake.
The Port Adelaide v Richmond clash at Adelaide Oval commences at 7.50pm, while Shima Classic is in Race 8 Box 2 at 9.27pm.

WATCH: Brilliant young sprinter Shima Classic (8) clocks a near-record 24.76sec Ballarat Cup heat win on Monday.
