Upset in Laurels

20-year-old Ben Magri has kicked off his first year of greyhound training with a bang tonight claiming the Group 2 Laurels with Aston Gwen at Sandown Park.

Aston Gwen was bred by the Unique Lolly Syndicate and is a daughter of Fernando Bale x Brueghlino (litter sister to Big Flood).

Owned by Ray Borda, Aston Gwen upstaged a regally bred field which included short priced favourite Immunity to win her and Ben’s their first group race at the odds of $8.60.

Aston Gwen is now a winner of 13 races from 39 career starts with more than $70,000 in prize money to her name.
