Gippsland takes centre stage in a bumper final edition of TOTC for 2020

Greyhound racing’s spotlight shone brightly in the east of the state this morning as the ‘Gippsland Festival of Racing’ was launched on 7TWO’s ‘Thrill of the Chase’.

In what was the final episode of ‘Thrill of the Chase’ for 2020 we headed to the beautiful Blue Gables Vineyard in Maffra West, a stone’s throw from where the Gippsland Festival action will kick off in December with the Sale Cup, followed by the Warragul and Cranbourne Cups in the new year.

Among the special guests were GRV Chair, Peita Duncan and leading Gippsland trainer Steve White, who was accompanied by his former champion sprinter Sennachie.

We also recapped the emotional behind-the-scenes vision from Friday night’s TAB Melbourne Cup, while James Van de Maat declared which greyhound he thinks will be the ‘next big thing’ following his outstanding prediction about Simon Told Helen on ‘Thrill of the Chase’ 12 months ago.

TAB’s Trent Langskaill dropped by to provide an early market for the Sale Cup, next-generation trainer Kaylah Azzopardi and Raw Ability were guests in Molly’s Lounge, and we aired a moving feature with Rob and Joy Reinke, who were caught up in last summer’s devastating Gippsland fires.
