Nominations in for TAB Topguns

Nominations are in for the Group 1 TAB Topgun and Group 1 TAB Topgun Stayers which will be run on Saturday 7 November at The Meadows.

Now the hard work begins. Over the weekend, the expert greyhound panel will deliberate over which greyhounds will make up the two eight dog invitational events.

Fields for the $150,000 to-the-winner TAB Topgun Sprint and $75,000 to-the-winner TAB Topgun Stayers will be announced on Tuesday at 7pm on Sky Racing’s The Catching Pen which airs on Sky 2.

Catch The Thief is currently the $4.50 favourite for the 525mTAB Topgun behind Shima Shine, Simon Told Helen and Tommy Shelby who all sit on the second line of betting at $5.

The only guaranteed starter for the sprint field is Golden Night who gained direct entry into the TAB Topgun thanks to his Group 1 Adelaide Cup victory last start.

There is a bit more clarity in the betting market with the TAB Topgun Stayers which is run over the 725m distance.

The Andrea Dailly trained Sunset Bourbski is the current $3.50 favourite ahead of Here’s Tears and Tornado Tears who sit at $4.50.

From the invitations which were sent out last week, the following greyhounds are now in the running to be picked for TAB Topgun contention.
