GAP Pre-assessment appointments are now available

COVID-19 has created a fresh set of challenges for our sport, but the dedication and effort shown by or participants means we’re still racing. Our Greyhound Adoption Program also continues to operate, albeit with altered conditions.

What hasn’t changed is the demand for greyhound as pets. GAP has been able to adopt a unique ‘home delivery’ service for adoptions and fosters, and the popularity of the breed is evident by the number of people keen to add a grey to their home.

To meet this demand, GRV is keen to remind owners and trainers that we’re open and ready to assess and accept dogs into GAP. Under stage four restrictions in metro Melbourne, GAP pre-entry assessment sessions are continuing as normal at clubs that offer facilities that allow the very strict COVID-19 safety restrictions to be properly implemented, and there are spaces now available prior to the expected reduction of assessments over summer.

For the month of October, 14 spots have been allocated for each session, and many of these are available for booking.

Greyhound will still require the normal wind-down period and vaccinations. Bookings can be made through GRV Racing Services (03) 8329 1100 or by email: [email protected].
