Stealing the show

TAB has made an alluring AFL/Greyhounds offer on two ‘show-stealers’.

It’s offering $6.00 on the chances of Gold Coast Suns whiz-kid Izak Rankine kicking 2+ goals against Carlton and sensational speedster Catch The Thief ‘getting away’ with the Group 3 Cranbourne Classic on Friday.

Rankine has slotted nine goals from seven matches this season – an average of 1.3 goals a game. And he’s averaging 12.3 disposals a match.

The Suns are 13th on the AFL ladder, with four wins and one draw from 12 games, while the Blues are 12th with five wins from 11 games.

Meanwhile, boom sprinter Catch The Thief is chasing his third age-restricted feature – and a $25,000 first prize – in the G3 RAM Security Cranbourne Classic (520m). Already this year, “Ghosty” has claimed the G2 WA Derby (520m) at Cannington and G3 Warragul St Leger (460m).

Trained by Matt Clark, Catch The Thief is a $1.90 favourite for the final after clocking the fastest heat win (29.87sec). He’s also won 10 of his past 13 starts.

Catch The Thief is in Race 8 Box 7 at 5.40pm on Friday, while the first siren sounds for the Suns v Blues clash at TIO Stadium (Darwin) at 7.50pm.
