Hartigans Horsham ‘logic’

Local husband and wife team William (Bill) and Helen Hartigan have four runners engaged at Horsham today.

Three members of the quartet are rated highly by expert form analyst The Watchdog, but Bill was quick to settle on some ‘logic’.

“Aston Logic is our best chance for the day, but she’ll find Vegas Rules hard to beat… He’s been racing in Melbourne and meeting better class dogs.”

Here’s how Bill assesses “Team Hartigans” chances:

Susie’s Star, Race 1 Box 3, 3.14pm
“She’s drawn okay as she appreciates an inside draw… She also has two vacant boxes on her immediate outside.”
The Watchdog says: Steadily placed when resuming, needs more time.

Aston Logic, Race 1 Box 6, 3.14pm
“It doesn’t really matter where she draws, but she’ll benefit from the scratchings of boxes four and five… She should get a clear run early.”

The Watchdog says: Placed in four of eight here, good muster, yes.

Kraken Tex, Race 6 Box 8, 4.52pm
“He’s drawn the wrong side of the track… Jar Man (Box 7) will be hard to cross, but I reckon he can run a place.”
The Watchdog says: Excels here but prefer from a rails draw, place.

Dashing Pedro, Race 11 Box 4, 6.39pm
“He can’t beat the five (Abby’s Star) as her winning times are superior to his… He wants the inside, so the scratching of box two and a vacant three box will help him.”
The Watchdog says: Excels here, settles on the speed, danger.
