HUMAN CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Racetrack attendances

Today Australia’s Chief Health Officer, the Commonwealth and State Governments advised that events attracting crowds of 500 or more people should not proceed.

Based on this advice, Greyhound Racing Victoria, our 13 clubs and Greyhound Clubs Victoria will identify any meeting or event on our calendar which meets this criteria.

GRV, GCV and clubs are developing plans to ensure all scheduled race meetings proceed while ensuring compliance with the Government’s directions.

GRV hosts more than 1200 meetings each year with more than 95 per cent of these attracting on-track crowds of fewer than 500 people.

For those meetings forecast to attract more than 500 people, GRV and clubs will consider contingencies such as restricting track access, allowing entry only to competing registered participants and key GRV and club personnel.

GRV and Greyhound Clubs Victoria will continue to provide updates as preparations for major meetings evolve and as further information becomes available from Governments and the Chief Health Officer.
