Rising star She’s A Blazin’ stretched her unbeaten record to four straight wins in tonight’s Shepparton Matchmakers final (450m).
Prepared at Longlea (a suburb of the city of Bendigo) by Ian Garland, She’s A Blazin’ has made a sensational start to her career. She won her first two races at Horsham in the best time of each meeting prior to winning her Matchmakers heat in 25.25sec.
She’s A Blazin’ was only fairly away from box two, but joined leader Desiree Devere rounding the first turn. She railed through to hit the lead at the halfway mark before Desiree Devere rallied late.
But She’s A Blazin’ ($3.30) staved off the challenge to defeat Desiree Devere ($5.30) by one length, with Aston Lopez ($3.20F) a further two lengths away third in 25.18sec.
“I’m pretty proud of her winning this race because it’s a time-honoured event,” Garland told GRV’s Brad Williams post race.
“She’s tenacious, a hard chaser and has a great will to win.”
The beautifully bred March ’18 Blazin’ Bomber x Silver Salute speedster snared a $10,000 first prize for owners the Living A Dream syndicate, managed by Adam Hunter at Tanjil South.
She’s A Blazin’, a daughter of Aussie fast bowler James Pattinson’s greyhound Blazin’ Bomber, lifted her earnings to $15,380. She was bred by Donald Rhodes at Heyfield.
