Ticket to Ride

Scintillating Sennachie flew the Victorian flag with distinction in Brisbane last night.

Trained by Steven White, Sennachie notched his fourth group race win with a sizzling display in the Group 3 Golden Ticket (520m) at Albion Park.

He clocked a flying 29.39sec – only .01sec off his own mark of 29.38sec set in the G1 Brisbane Cup on July 4 this year.

Sennachie ($2.15F) defeated local star Sequana ($4.20) by one and a quarter lengths, with Ash Star ($51) a further four lengths away third.

Fellow Victorian Snags McKenzie ($19) finished sixth, beaten eight and a quarter lengths.

Sennachie has also won the G1 Maturity Classic, G1 Brisbane Cup and G2 Queensland Derby.

He has finished second in the G1 Silver Chief and G3 Speed Star, and third in the G1 Adelaide Cup. He was also a G1 Topgun finalist. In all, Sennachie has competed in nine group race finals.

A son of Fernando Bale, Sennachie has now won 17 races from 31 starts. The $25,000 first prize lifted his stakes to $551,450.
