Scotch scorches home to snatch Adelaide Cup

22-month-old youngster Hooked On Scotch has produced an incredible performance to take out the Group 1 Adelaide Cup at Angle Park tonight in a photo finish.

Already touted as the fastest greyhound in Australia, Hooked On Scotch showed why when flashing home late to run down fellow Victorian stars Whiskey Riot and Sennachie in 29.44sec.

The come-from-behind win was reminiscent of Hooked On Scotch’s older half brother, 2018 Topgun winner Poke The Bear.

Hooked On Scotch (Barcia Bale x Nicky Fields) has had just 10 starts for six wins including victories in the Group 3 Speed Star at Sandown Park and the inaugural State Of Origin series at Angle Park.

It was the fifth Adelaide Cup win for trainer Jason Thompson, who has stated previously that Hooked On Scotch is as fast as any greyhound he has ever trained.
