FRIDAY FLUTTER – RAZOR’S EDGE

Punting can be like living on ‘The Razor’s Edge’. But punters – and The Watchdog – won’t have famed English writer W. Somerset Maugham on their minds at Geelong tonight.

The expert form analyst has tipped the aptly named Razor’s Edge in a heat of the Geelong Derby over 460 metres.

A star prospect, Razor’s Edge has notched seven wins and three seconds from 10 starts.

Trained at Wattle Flat by Rosalyn Hume, Razor’s Edge boasts a 25.65sec best-of-day win at his sole Geelong outing.

He’s obviously capable of putting slick times on the semaphore board – Angle Park (515m) – 29.83sec; Ballarat (450m) – 25.24sec; and Murray Bridge (530m) – 29.59sec. (All were the time standard for their respective night.)

Here is a replay of Razor’s Edge (box four) scoring a comfortable 25.65sec Geelong victory on May 7 this year:
