THURSDAY THOUGHT – UP AND ABOUT

Grand final weekend is an ‘up and about’ time of year…

So, as we near the AFL’s ‘big dance’, Up And About almost seems an omen bet at Sandown Park tonight.

However, The Watchdog hasn’t assessed her winning chances purely on premonition.

Prepared at Neerim Junction by Gerard O’Keeffe, Up And About has a great record at Sandown Park and is well drawn in the ‘red’ alley, in a Grade 5 over 515 metres.

She has notched three wins from five starts on this circuit – 29.48 (box two), 29.72 (box two) and 29.80 (box one).

Up And About’s overall record reads 18 starts for five wins, four seconds and two thirds.

Obviously, The Watchdog is confident punters will be up and about with her prospects as she’s one of his three ‘Bets of the Night’ on the program.

Check out Up And About’s 29.48sec win (from box two) at Sandown Park on March 24 this year:
