FRIDAY FLUTTER – FEARLESS

But the juxtaposition at Geelong tonight is that bettors won’t need to ‘throw caution to the wind’ outlaying their hard-earned spondoolies on the aptly named Fearless (Race 5, Box 8).

Engaged in a heat of the Hugh Emmerson Memorial over 460 metres, Fearless is The Watchdog’s ‘Best Bet’ on the program.

Fearless has a dazzling 25.58sec personal best at Beckley Park, where he has posted two wins from three starts over the 460m circuit.

Prepared at Exford by John Barbara, Fearless boasts an overall record of eight wins from 13 starts. And he’s undefeated in two starts from the ‘pink’ trap.

Barbara also trains Bonafide (Race 3, Box 3), who is the GRV form analyst’s top selection in a Mixed 6/7 over 400 metres.

Bonafide followed up a gallant second on race debut in a Maiden heat (400m) at Geelong, with a cracking 22.55sec win (from box three) in the final.

Here is a replay of Fearless (box seven) establishing his 25.58sec PB at Geelong on May 17 this year::
