FRIDAY FLUTTER – RUNNIN’ ROYALTY

It seems expert form analyst The Watchdog has become a ‘royal observer’.

So, with nobility in mind, he’s tipping a member of the sport’s upper crust – Runnin’ Royalty – in a Mixed 4/5 over 460 metres at Geelong tonight.

Trained at Exford by John Barbara, Runnin’ Royalty’s trademark is his catch-me-if-you-can tactics that have seen him reign supreme on 22 occasions (with five seconds and three thirds) from 32 starts.

A finalist in last month’ s Group 2 Bendigo Cup (425m), Runnin’ Royalty is aiming for his sixth successive win. In fact, if successful it will be his 10th win from his past 11 starts.

Runnin’ Royalty has notched three wins (and one second) in four starts from the ‘check’ trap – including a best-of-night 25.46sec victory at Geelong earlier this month.

Here is a replay of Runnin’ Royalty (box two) ruling with authority at Geelong (460m) on August 2:
