Metropolitan and Provincial Trainer of the Year – Andrea Dailly

Training juggernaut Andrea Dailly was rewarded for another outstanding year on the track when named as the Metropolitan and Provincial Trainer of the Year at the Victorian Greyhound of the Year awards.

Dailly prepared a total of 141 winners on Victoria’s Metropolitan Tracks in 2018/19, more than double the tally of second-placed Jeff Britton (69 winners), while her powerful Anakie kennel claimed an impressive 342 victors state-wide.

The star of the Dailly team in 2018/19 was undoubtedly Dyna Patty, a daughter of Team Dailly’s former champion Fernando Bale.

Dyna Patty was a two-time Group 1 winner of the Maturity Classic and Australian Cup, both races held at The Meadows, while she also took out the Group 2 Warrnambool Cup.

Her other feature race appearances came in the Group 1 Perth Cup (3rd), Group 3 Easter Gift (2nd) , Group 1 Topgun, Group 2 Ballarat Cup and Group 3 Silver Bullet.

“As mum said when she accepted these awards last year, she couldn’t do it all on her own,” said Andrea’s daughter Korie Heinrich.

“We have about 120 dogs on the property so it’s a massive team effort.

“Dyna Patty is the best we’ve had in recent times. She’s just so fast. She’s a beautiful little girl.”
