Weekend wrap: Blue Moon Rising, Jesaulenko impress

NSW stayer Blue Moon Rising claimed the Group 3 Gold Cup (720m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Winner of the Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers (725m) at The Meadows on Australian Cup night, the John Finn-bred and trained greyhound continues to enhance his reputation as one of Australia’s premier stayers.

The son of Fernando Bale and Chica Destacada won by four lengths over litter sister Poco Dorado, followed by Little Digger.

Boom Down (Steve White), the only Victorian in the final, came from last to run fourth after exiting box one.
