Robert Larsen, part owner of 2007 Melbourne Cup winner Shanlyn Prince, sadly passed away last Sunday after a long battle with skin cancer.
Son Shannon Larsen said greyhound racing meant the world to his father.
“He was a part owner for the last 25 odd years of all the ‘Shanlyn’ dogs. His greyhounds were everything to him and he was always at the track to watch them race whenever possible,” Shannon said.
A funeral will be held for Robert Larsen on Friday with the 2007 Melbourne Cup to take pride of place on his coffin.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Robert James Larsen in the Boyd Chapel at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, 600 Princes Hwy, Springvale on Friday October 12, 2018 commencing at 2pm. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to donatelife.gov.au would be preferred.
