GRV’s CEO has contract extended to 2020

The Board of Greyhound Racing Victoria has, with the endorsement of the Minister for Racing, extended the contract of Chief Executive Officer Alan Clayton to June 2020.

GRV Board Chair Bernie Carolan said the decision to extend Mr Clayton’s contract was an easy one for the Board given his achievements since taking on the CEO role in August 2015.

“Alan joined GRV during a turbulent period for greyhound racing and has led the way in meeting all GRV’s obligations from the Milne and Perna reports, restabilising the sport and transforming GRV,” Mr Carolan said.

“Alan has worked closely with GRV staff, our clubs, participants and key stakeholders to ensure greyhound racing in Victoria is best placed to have a long and successful future.

“Under Alan’s leadership, rehoming is at record levels, animal welfare is the priority of all and integrity has become entrenched in our organisation. At the same time we have more events than ever before, we are investing in Club facilities and wagering on our sport continues to grow.

“The Board looks forward to continuing to work with Alan as we lead GRV and the industry to a secure and long term future.”
