Free entry to Geelong Greyhound Racing Club every Tuesday

The Geelong Greyhound Racing Club is offering free admission to their race meetings every Tuesday, just in time for the summer holidays.

Free admission begins on Boxing Day, 26 December at the Beckley Park Centre in Broderick Rd, Corio.

Come along and enjoy the great facilities, family atmosphere and a Bistro that offers a selection of wonderful meals, snack options and the space to accommodate up to 200 diners as well as all the excitement of a day at the races.

The general manager of the Geelong Club, David Hoey, said free admission on Tuesdays would make the club more accessible for Geelong residents and holiday-makers.

“Geelong attracts thousands of visitors over the holiday period, many of them are looking for things to do, so this is the perfect time to give more people a taste of what we have to offer,” he said.

Geelong is one of Victoria’s biggest greyhound racing clubs. With a world-first two-track complex configured for country and city racing formats, it hosts 104 race meetings a year every Tuesday and Friday, attracting thousands of racegoers.

The Geelong Gold Cup, which is the club’s biggest racing event, is a highlight on Victoria’s greyhound racing calendar.

“The club is a great community resource. Every Saturday we host the Beckley Park Community Market, and we work with a range of community and sporting groups in the region.

“By providing free entry every Tuesday we can introduce more people to Beckley Park, whether you want to enjoy a meal, have look at the facilities, or you come for the racing.”

Gates are open 45 minutes before the first race. Please visit our website to check times for our Tuesday meetings which generally begin mid-afternoon. geelong.grv.org.au
