Million dollar dog Fanta Bale headlines the Group One TRFM Sale Cup heats on Sunday night, which is the first leg of the Gippsland Carnival.
Fanta Bale is coming off a second place to fellow Victorian Scott Keeping in the Group Three Summer Cup (720m) at Wentworth Park.

Fanta Bale is already the shortest priced favourite ($1.25) in the heats of the Sale Cup, after drawing box three in heat four. Although Scott Keeping is aiming for two consecutive victories over the champ Fanta Bale, the TAB still have him paying $8 jumping from box four.
Chasin’ Crackers for trainer Glenn Rounds looks all the rage ($2.15) in heat one in his first start over the 650 metre distance at Sale. He has had success over the middle distance at Ballarat with a best of the night time of 30.67sec (545m) and Sandown in another best of the night time of 34.53sec (595m).
Favoritism lies with Royal Intention who is trained by Diane O’Niell of Pearcedale in heat two. Although Royal Intention is yet to experience racing at group level he has had 19 starts for 11 wins and a second placing.
The TAB couldn’t decide on a favourite in heat three with Van Ann, Cadalora and Quick Jagger all opening up at $4.
Racing kicks off at 5.38pm on Sunday, with the first of four Sale Cup heats set to jump at 7.07pm. The winners and the second place getters in the Sale Cup heats will earn their rug in next weeks Group One TRFM Sale Cup, which will be held on Boxing Day.
