Great day at The Meadows Great Chase

It was another great day at the TAB Great Chase.

The eleventh Great Chase event was held at The Meadows on Wednesday, bringing together local community organisations to cheer on the greyhounds.

About 120 guests representing 11 disability and aged care services from Melbourne’s northern, north-east and western suburbs enjoyed an exciting afternoon of racing in the lead-up to the Great Chase semi-finals and final to be held later this month, back at The Meadows.

Along with entertainment and lunch, organisations were allocated greyhounds to cheer on during the races. They also had the opportunity to meet three greyhounds from the Greyhound Adoption Program.

At the end of the day, six groups shared $2000 between them, according to their dogs’ wins and placings.

Brite Services (PAK division), Brite Services (Plants division), Wintringham Community Services (Eunice Seddon Hostel), Scope Coburg, Wintringham Community Services (Gilgunya) and the Araleun Centre shared in the prizes. The Aurora Support Services team was happy to receive a consolation prize when its dog was scratched.

Organised in partnership with the TAB, the Great Chase series has been held every year since 2003. GRV has donated more than $500,000 to community organisations in that time.
