Seven Vics in SA Oaks

On Thursday night at Angle Park Victoria dominated in the heats of the Group Three South Australian Oaks (515m).

Brett Bravo kicked off proceedings in the first heat with Andrea Doria (box two) who defeated fellow Victorian Wynburn Toozie (box one).

Brett Bravo was 0.75 lengths away from taking out the following South Australian Oaks heat with Shelley Keeping (box seven) but local Fabregal (box five) proved too hard to run down after a clear run from the boxes. Bel Air Mist (box three) for Glenn Rounds finished third in a time of 30.10sec, fast enough to sneak through to the final.

The first four to cross the line in the last heat were Victorians, with Jeffrey Guy’s Brazen Bomber (box five) running down Pepper Fire. Fanta Bale (box three) and Cavalcade (box one) finished third and fourth respectively.

The Group Three South Australian Oaks will be run on Thursday September 8 with Victoria in hope of back-to-back victories after Fernando Bale’s litter sister Elfen Bale (pictured) for Andrea Dailly took the Group three title last year.
