Brisbane Winter Cup Heats

Victoria have been without a Brisbane Winter Cup victory for seven years, but tonight Anthony Azzopardi and Darren Pattinson plan to be one step closer to breaking the drought in the 2016 Winter Cup heats at Albion Park.

Tina Womann was the last Victorian trainer to taste victory in the Group 1 Brisbane Winter Cup in 2009 with Trew Millions.

Master Jackpot is the only Victorian who doesn’t currently hold favourtism in his heat. Jumping from box two in the third heat, which is set to jump at 8.45pm (local time), Master Jackpot is set to start second favourite ($3.10) behind Outside Pass ($2.00).

Blazin’ Bomber kicks off the Winter Cup heats as short price favourite ($1.80) in his second start at Albion Park, after finishing third last week. The first heat is set to jump at 8.05pm (local time).

Zambora Brockie (pictured) is the shorter priced favourite ($1.20) jumping from box two in the third heat, which is set to jump at 8.25pm (local time).

The three Victorian’s will have to run in the top two in order to receive a rug in next weeks Group 1 Brisbane Winter Cup, which is set to run over the 520 metre distance.
