Dundee Fury certainly did make a liar out of trainer Geoffrey Scott-Smith (pictured) in the heats of the Group 1 $103,075 Peter Mosman Classic (520m) tonight at Wentworth Park.

During the week Scott-Smith believed that box 1 would be the undoing of his talented greyhound, who had his first interstate start at Wentworth Park tonight, clocking 30.11sec.

“He is a dog with a lot of talent! He went very quick in his first race start at Sale (24.68sec), but he is very slow early and I think the red box is the worst spot for him, because he wants outside of the track. Saying that, he could make a liar out of me!” Scott-Smith laughed before the heat.

The son of Barcia Bale and Crown Poker, was acompanied by litter sister Dundee Calypose as well as kennel mates Dundee Osprey and Dundee Cobra in the trip across the boarder.

The Peter Mosman heat win was just his fourth career start (3 wins and one minor placing), making him one of the most inexperienced chasers in the series.

Scott-Smith has high hopes for the future of Dundee Fury, and tonight’s effort would have only increased his exceptions.
