VIDEO: RSN Sandown Cup outsider does trainer proud

Bells Are Ringin is set to feature in her first Group 1 on Thursday night, the 2016 $250,000 RSN Sandown Cup (715m), and although she is the rank outsider paying $35.00 on the TAB Fixed Odds, trainer Gerard O’Keeffe couldn’t be happier with her achievement.

“We are so proud of her! She is only tiny but she is full of heart. She is the most delightful little dog you could possibly have,” O’Keeffe said of Bells Are Ringin.

Bells Are Ringin has made her mark in the staying ranks over the past seven months, only running unplaced on three occasions from 21 starts over the staying journey.

Gerard also has litter brother Ring The Bell in the Group Listed $21,750 Cup Night Stayers Final (715m) at Sandown Park on Thursday night. A win in both staying events would see Gerard take home $190,000 in prize money.

Sandown hosted a record seven heats of the RSN Sandown Cup on Thursday night. Here is the inside mail from connections of the last three Sandown Cup heats below…
