VIDEO: Gadget going for glory in Warrnambool Cup

Deano’s Gadget isn’t the most decorated greyhound in Wednesday night’s $67,000 Group 2 Warrnambool Cup, but to make the final of such a big race means plenty to her connections.

“I’m very proud of her. She’s a real good trier,” said handler Colin Brennan, twin brother of trainer Daryl Brennan, after Deano’s Gadget’s heat win in 25.33sec.

Owners David Walls, Dean Sinclair and Dean Conlin of the Triple D Syndicate hail from Melbourne’s northern suburbs and played Australian football together at Lalor.

The trio will be making the trip to Warrnambool on Wednesday night, as Deano’s Gadget looks to add to her record of 53 starts for 12 wins, 10 placings and $33,230 in prize money.

“It’s a long way to go but it’s not often you get a greyhound into a big race like the Warrnambool Cup,” Sinclair said.

Deano’s Gadget is rated a $41.00 chance with TAB to snare the $47,000 first prize.
