Kade comes in Off the Bench

WHEN you’re on a winner, you want to make sure you tell everyone about it. For Kade Petering and his mates in Geelong, that winner is the Dr Who Survivor Quiz on Off the Bench.

Last year, Kade’s mate Brayden Ison won a 10 per cent share in a greyhound and proceded to tell all his mates about how good it was. This year, another of Kade’s mates Kieren Delahunty won a share in Craig Hutchison’s syndicate.

So for every week since, Kade has called up the program on a Saturday morning in the hope of getting himself a share in a brand new racing greyhound.

“I’ve basically got hooked on the quiz through a few friends and family who have got me on it,” he said. “My mate Brayden had won a dog in the past and had told us all about how great it was, so we all thought we’d have a crack this year.

“Brayden had been telling all our mates at the footy club, so now they’re all trying to get on the show each week too which is great.”

The 20-year-old, who is currently studying construction management at Deakin University in Geelong, said he was pumped about owning a greyhound with his mates.

“When Kieren won with Hutchy a few weeks back he was telling us all we’d have to go with Hutchy if we won, so I had to pick him when I got question 10 right,” he said. “I’d got through for three consecutive weeks, but had bombed out on the last couple of questions, so to be able to finally get the last question right this week was awesome.”
