Jack to Fly Flag for Locals

Heats of the Group 1 Sale Cup (650m) were conducted last Saturday night with almost all main fancies proceeding through to this Friday’s $108,000 Group 1 Final.

The final field is dominated by professional or semi professional trainers with 7 of the finalists travelling from the western side of Melbourne and only Darren McDonald’s (Devon Meadows) Zipping Spike being domiciled this side of Melbourne.

Local interest will be in Agent Jack, who although beaten in a heat will be a leading chance.

Agent Jack has drawn well in box 2 and should get a good run throughout and has a chance to cap a roller coaster career with a Group race victory.

As a youngster Agent Jack was the subject of some huge offers, then unfortunately suffered a serious race track injury which sidelined him for many months.

Trained at Napoleons by Steve McKenna, Agent Jack is part owned and was bred by Craig and Olivia Alcock at Nambrok, which is just 15 minutes from Sale.
