Richest Race gets Richer among key Sandown Announcements

The Melbourne Cup final – already the world’s richest greyhound race – will get even richer in 2014 with total prize money in the race jumping from $500,000 to $600,000.

This is one of a number of exciting announcements by the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club, including a radical change to the format of the Launching Pad series, where people can buy their way into the series which will also get a whole lot richer.

Infrastructure improvements are also on the agenda for Sandown, along with better hospitality at its Sunday race meetings.
