STUART’S NEXT STAR

Paul Stuart has come to Victoria with another greyhound capable of being a superstar in the heats of the Group 2 McKenna Memorial (595m) at Sandown Park on Thursday night.

The series has attracted six outstanding heats with greyhounds represented from across the country. The spotlight is once again on the young West Australian trainer and his new sensation, Dyna Nalin.

Dyna Nalin famously won the Perth Cup as an outsider in February and has always been touted as a top staying prospect.

Over the past four weeks at Cannington in Western Australia, Dyna Nalin has been going head-to-head with another local talent, On Coin. The two have shown they have the class edge on their rivals, with Dyna Nalin winning three out of the four battles over the 530m trip. Throughout the McKenna series, the son of Ashom Bale will take on top-class Victorian sprinters in what will be the biggest test of his career.

At just 27 months of age, he has already won $219,000 in prize money from his 20 wins and five placings from 30 career starts.

Although a little tardy out of the boxes, he has shown exceptional strength in his career so far, with the $140,000 Perth Cup an example of this, where he ran down Golden Easter Egg winner Grigorieva Bale and was too strong for Glen Gallon and Hot Irish.
