Devon Meadows trainer, Troy Iwanyk, returns to his former hometown to tackle the Group 2 WA Derby on Saturday night, with a greyhound capable of bringing the 28 year-old huge success.

Crump, a winner of nine of his 13 race starts, with quick personal bests of 29.68s at The Meadows and 29.29s at Sandown Park, was impressive in his heat win and has been installed a $3.20 favourite for the race with TAB.

Iwanyk won the 2012 Ned Bryant Silver Fox award at the Greyhound Industry Awards Night in February, and tomorrow night has the opportunity to take home the $40,000 first prize.

Iwanyk believes that Crump does have the talent to win the race, but is wary of the Jason Thompson duo, Boris Fields (box 1) and Powerhouse (box 2).
