NCA VICTORIA AWARDS NIGHT A BIG SUCCESS

Last night at Sandown Park, the 2012 National Coursing Association of Victoria Awards Night was held.

Among the near 100 people in attendance were; Minister for Racing Dr Denis Napthine and GRV representatives Peter Caillard, Geoff Miles, Adam Wallish and Brian Williams.

There were many awards won on the night, including:

  • 2012 Coursing Greyhound of the Year: Manx Missile, owned by the Jana Eliza Syndicate and trained by Russell McRae
  • 2012 Coursing Female of the Year: My Girl Scarlett owned by the Belco Syndicate and trained by David Dawson.

The Inaugural Noel Banks Media for recognition of Outstanding and Continuous Volunteer Service award winners were:

  • Mrs Jean Hamilton (Longwood Coursing Club)
  • Mr Norm Adderley (Lang Lang Coursing Club)

2012 Coursing owner of the year: Jane Eliza Syndicate
2012 Junior Encouragement Award wins: Michael (15 year old Volunteer from Lang Lang Coursing Club)

Life Memberships to the National Coursing Association were awarded to:

  • Mr Tony Grimmond (Benalla Coursing Club);
  • Mrs Heather Villinger (Longwood Coursing Club & NCA Treasurer);
  • Mr Peter Lambert (previously delegate for the Melton Greyhound Racing Club; and
  • Mr Geoff Villinger (GOTBA).
