DAILLY DOUBLE

Anakie trainer Andrea Dailly claimed the quinella in the Group 2 Traralgon Cup on Friday night as Dyna Lowell (Feb ’09 Collision – Gold Rush Bale) beat home litter brother Dyna Morris.

The Jason Thompson-trained Whelan ran third after setting the early pace.

The circumstances surrounding this victory are astounding for the Paul Wheeler-bred litter.

Dyna Lowell and Dyna Morris are part of a mating that includes the 2011 Victorian and Australian Greyhound of the Year Dyna Tron, who is now at stud.

Also from the litter is recent Warrnambool Cup winner Dyna Bert.

Since November, the litter has claimed four country cups plus the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (Dyna Tron).

And this isn’t the first time the litter has snared a country cup quinella, with Dyna Tron and Dyna Bert running one-two in the 2011 Geelong Cup.

Amazingly, Dyna Lowell’s appearance in the Traralgon Cup was his first at group level in 75 starts.

This was his 19th win to go with 21 placings and $115,000 in career stake earnings.
