MIATA FEVER

Miata fever hit Melbourne last night when the versatile West Australian greyhound made it 14 straight wins.

Inspired by a visit to Peter Moody’s Caulfield stable two days earlier to meet the world’s greatest horse, mighty mare Black Caviar, Miata had to use all her class and determination to carve out a narrow win.

After blowing the start and trailing by four lengths, Miata rallied and crossed the line a nose in front of runner-up Thrilling Brat, who also made up plenty of ground.

Miata will return to Melbourne for the $100,000 to-the-winner Group 1 Sandown Cup heats on May 17, with the final to be run on May 24.
