Last night, Warrnambool hosted one of the best race meetings for the year, with the heats of the $40,000 to-the-winner Warrnambool Cup and semi-finals of the $70,000 to-the-winner Warrnambool Classic.
The fields were outstanding and would comfortably stack up with any other field that is assembled throughout 2012.

The first race alone featured two Group 1 winners and the fastest heat winner, in what was the first semi of the Warrnambool Classic.
Under Condition Twelve of the Warrnambool Classic Conditions of Entry, semi finals were drawn as a guarded blind draw (owners only) which on this occasion resulted in the highly talented Zara Zulu, El Brooklyn, Whispering Wind and Godsend all facing off in Semi Final One.
Australian Cup winner Zara Zulu was triumphant in the end, using the advantage of box 1, to beat Jason Thompson
