MONDAY NIGHT RACING

The Meadows annual Melbourne Cup eve race meeting included the running of two feature races.

The Group 2 Hume Cup [600m] produced a shock as seasoned greyhound Shintaro Samarai, trained by Rod Clark, got up at odds of $14.70 on her way to a $40,000 first prize.

Tunner-up was Karanji [Angela Langton], beaten three quarters, with Stack ‘Em Flat [Graeme Bate] third in the solid time of 34.73sec.

Meanwhile, the Graeme Bate-trained Shereen Bale [$3.50] tuned up for Friday night
