Six heats of the Group 2 Geelong Cup will be conducted this Friday night, with the $40,000 to-the-winner final to be run on November 4.
 
Please note that in accordance with a recently announced policy, 12 greyhounds (25%) should have been seeded for the six heats of the Geelong Cup. Unfortunately in error, the seeding panel in question inadvertently seeded 18 greyhounds, three into each heat.
 
After reviewing the matter and seeking objective views, it has nonetheless been determined that this action has had no significant impact (if any) on the composition of these fields. As a result, the fields for these heats will remain in place and not be re-drawn.
