THE LOCAL RACING SCENE
Heading the feature racing calendar in Victoria this weekend is a Grade 5 final at The Meadows on Saturday night, in which a $10,000 first prize is up for grabs along with a whopping $8,000 GOBIS Bonus.
Racing returns to Healesville this Sunday after a five-month closure.
The club will hold its first ever race meeting on sand in preparation for next weekend’s Healesville Cup heats.
THE MEADOWS SATURDAY
NOTE: The majority of Victorian-bred greyhounds are GOBIS [Greyhound Owners & Breeders Incentive Scheme] registered as young pups for a one-off fee of just $43. This allows them to claim the GOBIS bonuses available on around 700 races each year in this state.
BIG6 JACKPOT SATURDAY NIGHT
With the BIG6 at Sandown greyhounds last night paying in excess of $40,000, a jackpot of $18,698.88 has been carried over into the BIG6 pool at The Meadows tomorrow night.
The BIG6 will be held on races 4-9, with the first leg set to jump at 8:20pm
