Jason Thompson had the $1.80Fav in Saturday night’s Group 2 Black Top, but his star speedster Aston Galilee was trumped by Penthouse, who is trained by Thompson’s partner Seona Hood.

Thompson warned punters not to disregard Penthouse’s chances in the lead-up to the race, declaring… “He’s an old dog but he’s a tough dog. He has run third in the Adelaide Cup and is a good each way chance.”

The Pearcedale trainer proved correct in his assessment as Penthouse snared a $40,000 first prize in the Group 2 event at The Gardens in NSW.
