One of the country’s most exciting young greyhounds, Canya Talk Now, heads to Sandown Park this Thursday night in Race 7.
Not that he needed any favours, but on paper he looks to have landed a draw from the gods. Box 1 never hurts, and it gets even better when the greyhounds drawn outside him are known to leave a bit of room on the rail.
There’s every chance he puts on a show.
Anthony Azzopardi also has How High engaged in Race 5. He’s a pretty serious operator in his own right, having won his past seven starts.
Canya Talk Now comes into the race fresh off a dominant South Australian Derby victory at Angle Park last Thursday. While he’s not involved in this week’s match racing series, there’s every chance we see him back in Adelaide for the Adelaide Cup heats, particularly if he really cuts loose at Sandown.

The second-fastest greyhound at Sandown Park this year, Like A Rock, takes on WA’s Iconic Jet. Boom stayer Electrify meets local gun Victa Krev, while National Sprint Champion Wrongly Accused clashes with Dashing Slay, who we know all about.
Wrongly Accused is a $1.50 favourite to win the series overall, awarded to the fastest greyhound across all match races. The prize is more than just bragging rights, with the winner securing automatic entry into the upcoming Adelaide Cup.
Once Thursday is done, attention turns to the Sportsbet Bendigo Cup heats on Friday. Fields should be out around lunchtime on Wednesday.
