Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) condemns in the strongest possible terms the vile and racist comments made by a registered participant, which have no place in our sport or in the broader community.
The participant was yesterday disqualified for 12 months after being found guilty of two counts of engaging in conduct prejudicial to the interest, welfare, image, control or promotion of greyhound racing, and two counts of breaching GRV’s social media policy.
Racist, abusive or discriminatory behaviour is unacceptable under any circumstances, and GRV will continue to take decisive action when participants fail to meet the standards expected of them.
GRV reminds all registered persons that their conduct — including on social media — is governed by the National Rules of Racing, including GAR 165, and must align with GRV’s social media guidelines. Those guidelines make clear that content that is offensive, abusive, racist, threatening, discriminatory, bullying, defamatory or disrespectful will not be tolerated.
Participants were reminded of these obligations in August 2025, when GRV wrote to all registered persons outlining appropriate online behaviour and the potential consequences of breaches, including fines, suspension or disqualification.
GRV is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for everyone involved in Victorian greyhound racing.

GRV regulates the sport of greyhound racing in the state of Victoria under the Racing Act 1958 (Act), which includes setting standards and ensuring they are met by participants.
