The spotlight will be on Lakeview Emily in tonight’s Free-For-All at Sandown Park, the card’s main event and Victoria’s best race of the week.
The star sprinter endured a troubled run in last week’s Victorian Sprint final at The Meadows, but looks to have tonight’s race on a platter. Drawn well in box 1, she should get every possible chance with Mepunga Rocky drawn directly outside – a greyhound known for shifting wide on the track, which provides Lakeview Emily with a paddock to work with.
Her biggest threat is Paw Oswald, who was outstanding in that Victorian Sprint final when runner-up to Mepunga Reward. An ominous Smooth Plane also warrants respect, as well as gun veteran Schillaci, though box 8 makes his task really difficult.
All eyes will be on Lakeview Emily. With elements of the race in her favour, she has every chance to claim her 12th win at the track in what shapes as a cracking Free-For-All at Sandown Park.
It’s Race 8 on tonight’s program and set to jump at 9.31pm.
Other highlights include Race 4 – a Free-For-All over 595m where Paw Barton and Paw Yasmin do battle again, after they dead-heated at Warrnambool last week.
Race 6 will also be an entertaining one, a very open contest over 715m where six of the runners are currently (at midday) $6 or shorter with Sportsbet.
