Greyhound Racing Victoria is proposing a suite of rule changes aimed at significantly improving animal outcomes which build on many of the animal welfare and race track initiatives put in place over the past year.
Work to consolidate GRV’s national and local rules has now concluded. As a result of this work, a small number of minor grammatical issues have been identified for amendment in the Local Rules, Plumpton Coursing Rules and Betting and Bookmaker rulebooks.
I think it’s now clear to participants and other stakeholders that Victoria’s greyhound industry is now changing permanently. It’s no longer just racing with some animal welfare programs attached
From 1st February 2016, GRV greyhound racing participants have been required to register their female greyhounds for breeding prior to them being served.
